1987 Peavey T-40 Bass Guitar Black

Case: Original Hardshell Case

Year: 1987

Condition: Good with plenty of scratching and dings and dents throughout.  There is an area on the back lower bout that looks to be some sort of finish repair where the black paint is a slightly different color.  

Tech Notes: Bass, Hardware, and Electronics have been cleaned/tested and are functioning appropriately. Fretboard cleaned and Frets polished. Frets have been previously leveled in the past, but still have life left in them. Plays great throughout the entire neck with consistent intonation and no evident fret buzz. Clearly a players bass in the past this bass is a fantastic feeling/sounding instrument with a long life ahead of it.

Mods/Repairs/Issues: Neck Pickup is functioning, however a reduced volume in comparison to the Bridge Pickup. It looks like the neck pickup had previously been repaired/cover removed given the wear in that area.  Selling at a reduced price in as-is condition.

Electronics Layout: Neck Pickup Volume/Tone, Bridge Pickup Volume/Tone, Standard 3-Way Selector Switch, Phase switch (when using both pickups).

This Model of bass has a unique set of electronic controls. The tone pots function as both a tone pot for the individual pickup as well the single/dual coil for the pickups. From Peavey's manual:

"Our unique tone circuitry enables dual or single coil operation of each pickup independently through the rotation of the pickup tone controls. Rotating the tone controls fully clockwise (position #10) achieves the single coil mode and produces a greater degree of "highs" from the instrument. Rotating the tone controls counterclockwise to approximately the #7 position brings the second coil into operation for full-range, humbucking tonalities. Further counterclockwise rotation of the tone controls (from position #7 to 0) yield conventional tone contouring action.
