Exposed and dangerously badass! This modified late 1970s CBS era Fender Stratocaster is exceptionally awesome and ready to rock out. Decked with some modern features and the enhanced tones of vintage wood, you’ll be sorry to miss out on this one!
Weight: 9lb 7.8oz
Finish: Tung Oil Natural Stain
Body Material: Ash
Body Details: 2-piece Ash, the original finish had been stripped off and our tech here applied a Tung Oil finish to bring some luster and provide protection to the raw Ash body. It also happens to really accent the natural grains of the wood
Neck Material: Maple
Fingerboard Material: Maple
Neck Profile: Thin 70s C
Neck Thickness (IN): 1st fret: .892", 12th fret: .961”
Fingerboard Radius: 7.25"
Nut Width: 1-11/16 in
Neck Details: Maple neck with maple fingerboard and black dot inlays. The neck is very smooth and clean with some finish blemishes around the headstock and some discoloration at the crown of the headstock. There are two small dents, one behind the 2nd fret and the other behind the 9th fret. The neck has the classic 70s Bullet truss rod as well as a replacement brass nut. There is finish wear at the neck heel where it meets the body as well as a dent in the fret board under the B string on the 14th fret.
Fret wear: Original frets have even wear up the whole neck and does not get in the way of playability
High E string gauge: 10
Electronics: Entierly replaced from the original electronics. There is a 500k push pull pot where the bottom tone knob sits, it’s connected to only the bridge humbucker and acts also as a split for the coils, offering single coil action for the bridge position. The Volume and Tone knob are 250k pots that work like any other Srat. The middle tone knob works for both middle and neck pickups.
Pickup Details: Bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan JB, the Middle and Neck pickups are Fender ‘69 Custom Shops
Hardware: Chrome Gotoh Bridge, Replacement Sperzel tuners, new black knobs, brass nut
Case Details: Fender hard case
Modifications / Repairs: New pickups, new wiring, replacement tuners, new bridge and a brass nut. Tung Oil stain
Cosmetic Condition: Very Good - A few light scratches to the original hardware (neck plate and backplate) as well as general age and play wear to the original neck finish. The original finish was stripped and the new Tung Oil is in great shape protecting the old Ash body.
Tech Inspection Report: Plays well with low action and set up with 10-46 strings. After installing the new hardware and electronics the guitar was set to Fender spec and then dropped a little for fast and easy playing.
