1979 Fender PJ Natural (Modded)

Weight: 9.4 lbs

SPECS

Weight: 9.4 lbs

Case: Original Hardshell Case

Year: 1979

Condition: Very good with some scratching/dings/wear throughout. Handful of indentations along the side of the bass.  Fair amount of pick guard scratching.

Tech Notes: Bass, Hardware, and Electronics have been cleaned/tested and are functioning appropriately. Fretboard cleaned and Frets polished. Frets have been worn down slightly/leveled in the past, but still have plenty of life and are properly crowned. Setup with minimal neck relief and medium. Very minor fret buzz when digging in harder on the D/G string frets 7+. Fantastic feeling/sounding instrument with a long life ahead of it. Plays great throughout the entire neck with consistent intonation.

Mods/Repairs/Issues:
- Non Original Bridge Badass Bridge II
- No Ashtray, Pickup Cover, Thumb Rest.
- Non Original Pickups (EMG PJ Active Set)
- Original Pickups not included.
- Bridge Pickup cavity was routed to accommodate pickup.
- 9V battery space routed underneath pickguard in control cavity.
- Small crack between A/D strings on nut stabilized. No issue.
- Non OG Pots (originals in case).
- Neck Shim required to achieve proper angle for setup.
- 2 seized saddle height adjustment screws required replacing the E/A string saddles with a new set of Badass Bridge replacements. Remaining new saddles (D/G) and old saddles (E/A) in case.
- Tiny neck pocket crack on Low E side is purely cosmetic and no issue.
- Case straps have been stretched and don't hold it open.

- Original Pot codes date to 1977 (1377304)
- Headstock Serial dates to 1977/1978
- Sticker on body under neck pickup indicates 1979.
- To the best of our knowledge it appears this bass was finally assembled in 1979 with some left over parts used.

SETUP & INSPECTED BY OUR TECH TEAM

All of our guitars come with a FREE professional setup to a comfortable action as specified by that instrument’s manufacturer. Our setups always include inspection of (and necessary adjustment to): action, intonation, tremolo angle, truss rod, frets, nut, bridge, and more. We can accommodate special setup requests - additional charges and/or shipping delays of 1-2 business days could occur.

INDIVIDUALLY PHOTOGRAPHED

After 15 years of innovation in our photography process, Ish Guitars has developed a way to get you the most accurate true-to-life color of every instrument we sell. We never embellish, oversaturate, or misrepresent our images, so that your buying experience can be as much like visiting our showroom as possible. Keep in mind that various computer screens can show colors a bit differently, so the color on your screen may not match the real thing perfectly no matter how hard we try. Also, unless otherwise noted, we individually list and photo every piece of gear that comes through our doors.
