In August of 1981, Dan Smith was hired by Bill Schultz and Fender produced this alder body, 4-bolt neck, 21-fret, small headstock Standard Stratocaster between 1981 to 1983. This guitar includes a non-original G&G hard case and reproduction drop in tuners. The pickups are Lindy Fralin Blues Specials, does NOT include original pickups. Made in the Fullerton Factory.
Neck Details: Maple neck and fingerboard with dot inlays, traditional vintage style one piece maple neck
Fret wear: Some use to original frets, plenty of life left, small indeed under the G and B strings on the first 3 frets, even play wear up through the 14th fret, doesn’t add buzzing or change the playability of the guitar
High E string gauge: 10
Electronics: Original pickups were replaced
Pickup Details: Lindy Fralin Blues Specials (replacements)
Hardware: Original bridge and saddles, replacement period correct tuners
Case Details: G&G hard case
Modifications / Repairs: Lindy Fralin pickups, period correct replacement tuners, all done professionally
Cosmetic Condition: Very Good - A few light scratches scattered throughout the body, Neck finish shows some wear and use, a clean example for this vintage guitar
Tech Inspection Report: Plays well with even playa wear to the original frets, the finish on the neck is wearing though in some spots however it isn’t very noticeable with the easy action and comfortable profile
