DESCRIPTION

This bass was a part of Spector's first Woodstock Custom Collection in 2022. Below is the original description of the bass:

John’s NS-2 takes inspiration from the rare and radical guitars built in Kalamazoo, MI in the late 1950’s. This NS-2 is crafted with solid korina, or black limba, body wings, a three-piece maple neck, pau ferro fingerboard and a 34” scale length. For electronics, this bass is equipped with DiMarzio Model P & Model J pickups that are paired with an active Aguilar OBP-1 preamp that is activated with a push/pull pot for an intuitive, pre-set boost. Aesthetically, this instrument features a vintage-tint gloss finish, Mother of Pearl dot inlays, vintage-style knobs, and gold hardware.

“My vision for this instrument was to combine elements of some of the most sought-after vintage guitars with the iconic design of a Spector to create a unique, yet still classic instrument. For electronics, I chose DiMarzio pickups based on my love for vintage, Brooklyn-era Spector basses, and paired them with an Aguilar OBP-1 that can be activated with the push/pull pot on the volume knob. The controls for the OBP-1 are hidden in the control cavity and can be adjusted to the player’s liking for a clever on-board boost when you need more bass or to cut through the mix.” - John Stippell

SETUP & INSPECTED BY OUR TECH TEAM

All of our guitars come with a FREE professional setup to a comfortable action as specified by that instrument’s manufacturer. Our setups always include inspection of (and necessary adjustment to): action, intonation, tremolo angle, truss rod, frets, nut, bridge, and more. We can accommodate special setup requests - additional charges and/or shipping delays of 1-2 business days could occur.

Condition: Excellent with a few minor scratches near the pickups as well as on the headstock.

Tech Notes: Guitar, Hardware, and Electronics were cleaned and tested and are functioning appropriately. Fretboard cleaned and frets polished. No fret wear evident. Setup with minimal neck relief and medium/low action. Plays great throughout the entire neck with consistent intonation/playability. No fret rock/height issues. Some very minor markings/scratches on the front side of the headstock around the A tuner. Fantastic playing/sounding bass.
