Martin Custom Shop GP28 Style Acoustic Guitar Crimson Cocobolo

DESCRIPTION

This Martin Custom Shop GP28 was spec’d by our Founder in person at the Martin factory, hand selecting all woods and working 1-on-1 with the custom shop team to make sure this guitar was absolutely perfect. 

We found an incredible lot unique piece of one of our favorite, rare tone woods - Crimson Cocobolo - which was a no-brainer for the back and sides. After also discovering a small batch of rare Katalox bridge and fretboard sets deep in Martin’s wood room, we knew it was the perfect match.

Topping this build off (quite literally) is the figured Sitka Bearclaw top, which sounds as incredible as it looks. 

As with all of our hand-spec’d Martin Custom Shops, the base model of this build is a GP28, but the guitar that resulted is anything but. It’s a one-off that will never exist again, but it before it’s gone!

SETUP & INSPECTED BY OUR TECH TEAM

All of our guitars come with a FREE professional setup tailored to your individual tuning and string gauge preferences, if available. Our setups always include action, intonation, trem angle, and truss rod adjustments.  If needed, we smooth out fret edges, address any nut or bridge shim issues, polish the frets, and condition the fingerboard.  All work is completed by our experienced tech team who understand what today's players want from their instruments. If not otherwise requested our techs will setup each instrument to a comfortable medium/low action with minimal truss rod relief dependent on the instrument style.
