Classic meets contemporary in this one of a kind beauty from the masters at Paul Reed Smith Guitars
The Custom 24 has simply become an institution of guitars, earning its place up high with the Gibson Les Paul and the Fender Strat. With a body shape that appeals to players who cant shake the vintage feel or the new kid on the block that needs sleek, modern and versatile. This iconic instrument was the first model that Paul Reed Smith brought to the public at PRS Guitars’ first Winter NAMM show in 1985 and has been a top seller ever since. the Custom 24 features PRS’s patented Gen III tremolo system and PRS 85/15 pickups with volume and tone controls and usually a 5-way blade switch. This model features a change that we think is an all around more superior design; the three way toggle with a coil tap. Now you have precision to choose each Humbucker and split individually with one designated move as opposed to going through five options. Simple and effective.
Still boasting the same pickups the 85/15’s were personally designed by Paul Reed Smith to offer remarkable clarity and extended high and low end. Blues, metal, rock, jazz, funk and everything in between can be heard from artists all over the world playing the same pickups. To wrap it all together at the forefront this thing is just a drop dead stunner. Featuring one of the most stunning Flamed tops we have ever had in the store with such a classic finish, this is exactly the type of thing that is so signature PRS. Attached is a satin hormigo neck which is a relative of rosewood. The way this neck feels is a game changer in terms of comfort, durability and the sound it lends to your instrument. It one of a kind pieces that makes us wonder why all guitars aren’t like this.
