This 6 string multi-scale Private Stock is one of the last of its kind. Although Ish Guitars pioneered the 6 string multi-scale PRS guitars (paying for all the R&D to make it happen and thus getting an exclusive on them), PRS has told us its time to wind down these complex builds and will not be accepting any more orders for them. This specific guitar was hand-selected on our last trip to the PRS factory in February 2020, just beating out the COVID shutdowns which still do not allow any dealer to travel to the factory to this day.

Build #8996 focused on 2 main details: unique color, and tactile feel. We all know guitars are an incredibly "physical" item - in order to play them you literally have to rub your hands all over them. So, for this Private Stock we selected a super-thin nitro finish, hand selected super lightweight tone woods, and opted to not fill the holes in the poplar burl top (one of my favorite light weight, great sounding, and well-taken-to-stain woods).

On the topic of color: As one of the top 3 PRS Private Stock dealers, we have to reach far into the outer rim of our creativity to stay on top. This color was inspired by a certain well known bass builder who we are also a large dealer for, but tweaked and perfected by the Private Stock staining team who absolutely knocked it further out of the park then I could have imagined. The purple-gray features of this "reverse burst" are cohesively faded throughout the rest of the build including the fretboard, flamed maple tuner buttons, and even the control cavity cover, creating a magazine cover worthy instrument.
