For 2000, the Tacoma EM9 model was updated with a rounded cutaway. Named the EM9C, this solid-wood instrument featured a sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, a rosewood fretboard and bridge, tortoise-colored body binding, abalone dot inlays, a four-color wood rosette, a clear pickguard, and a light satin finish. The EM9C's body measured 151/2" rather small for a jumbo, but wider than a parlor guitar. The body was joined at the 14th fret by a 251/2"-scale neck.
The satin coat makes the guitar a dream to play, comparing to models twice the price with the sound to back it up. Deep and articulate tones with a thinner neck would make this a dream for any player whether you are chasing Andy McKee, playing your local open mic night or you need a perfect studio acoustic this all wood, usa made Tacoma is for you.
