1972 Fender Telecaster Blonde
SPECS
Weight: 8.5 lbs
Case: Original Hardshell Case
Year: 1972
Condition: Very good with general wear, scratching, dings, and minor chips throughout. Neck pocket cracks present as well as a bit of a burn in the finish on the headstock from cigarettes being placed in the strings during play. Bit of fret wear as well.
Tech Notes: Guitar, Hardware, and Electronics have been cleaned/tested and are functioning appropriately. Fretboard cleaned and Frets polished. This guitar has had some leveling in the past and the frets are on the lower side, however not an issue with the setup/playability of the guitar. Setup with minimal neck relief and medium/low action. Plays great throughout the entire neck with consistent intonation. Fantastic feeling/sounding instrument with a long life ahead of it.
- Neck Code matches 1972. Serial matches end of 1972/early 1973. Pot codes match 1965/1966 (older parts getting used up by Fender).
- 5.77k readout for replacement neck pickup. 6.05k readout for original bridge pickup.
To the best of our knowledge it looks like this guitar was built in the end of 1972 right before the transition to the 3 bolt style in 1973.
Mods/Repairs/Issues:
- Original/Stock Neck pickup (in case) is having some inconsistent readouts and low volume issues. This was replaced with a Fender Mod V II Tele neck pickup. Most likely a break in the wind of the original neck pickup causing the issue.
- G string string ferrull was replaced/glued in place on back of guitar.
- Slightly stiff G/B string tuners. However all tuners turn on center correctly/aren't bent.
- Additional strap button added to by neck pocket.
